When Unreal Championship and Unreal Tournament 2003 came out, they introduced a gametype known as Bombing Run. If I were to describe Bombing Run, think of it as football (American Football) with guns. Two teams are battling over a ball that spawns in the middle of the map. When a player has the ball, they cannot use a weapon without shooting the ball, which is like "punting" it. A team that has the ball has to advance on the opponent's goal portal, and can score in two ways; either step through the portal with the ball to score seven points (kind of like a "touchdown") or they can simply shoot the ball through for three points (basically a "field goal").
