It is the latest installment by Electronic Arts of the NBA Live series, which had not seen a series release since NBA Live 10 in 2009 and the canceled (for consoles) video game NBA Elite 11 that ended up being a mobile game release in 2010. NBA Live 14 features Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers as its cover athlete.
