Stage 5: Tentacle Stage 6: Cell Stage 7: Base ....and the start of loop 2 where I get murdalized right away =(. Gradius is pretty short............you can finish a loop in 15 minutes or so if you don't die. Not dying is pretty important in the second half of the game, because you need full power for the last stage. And the biggest shield you can muster. Many times I would have died if I didn't have a good-sized shield. If you can make it to the Electric Machine you'll be fine, the next checkpoint is super easy because the machine will not reappear. On loop 2 the enemies fire back unpredictably....in all later Gradius games every other enemy fires back....maybe making this the hardest loop ...
