Note that the game is much harder on NG+ as the difficulty of the enemies is increased regardless if you "Casual/Normal" or "Hard/Expert" difficulty. The upside is you get TONS of experience per battle (over 150k) which you can easily get 2+ levels if you are lv50 or under. Also, oculi drops are much better grade types. Beware though, the enemies can hit up to 300-600 damage critical, which can easily one shot your character. Ambush generally means instant Game Over if you encounter the more powerful enemies that can hit 200+ (normal damage).
