It was originally released for the arcades in 2002, before being ported to GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2003. A high-definition port of the game, titled Soulcalibur II HD Online, is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Compared to Soulcalibur, Soulcalibur II has improved graphics and introduces new characters, stages, and music.
