Since the Sonic Colors Nintendo DS demo is getting a little more wide spread, I decided to give it a whirl. Sonic Rush's name is apt - the game is all about rushing. There's an undeniable sense of urgency to Sonic Rush, and the core gameplay revolves around keeping Sonic moving as fast as possible at all times. Sonic Colors, judging by this demo, seems to be a bit slower. Collecting boost energy isn't as easy, and there seems to be more to do than just run around really quickly. Levels feel bigger, too. The hardest part of the demo is adjusting to Sonic's new controls; tricks are gone and most of Sonic's moves have been tweaked to play more like the console version of Colors. Colors DS keeps triggering my muscle memory for how to play Sonic Rush, but none of that stuff applies here. Gonna take some getting used to.
