- I've finally done it. Probably the hardest in-game achievement in the game, I put a Star on the VS Characters board by beating Metal Mario with Plum. You get a Star by beating a character WITHOUT SAVE/QUIT, because doing so only gets you a Circle instead. - The reason this is so hard is because Plum is incredibly weak, and Metal Mario is amazingly strong (37.5% stronger). His AI is very good as well, but I will admit it sucks when the wind is heavy. The challenge is that I can't reach Par 5s or short Par 4s under the Green in Regulation (or even GIR on the longest Par 4s with a heavy headwind) like he can, so I have to allow the possibility of losing those holes and hoping he screws up on the shortest or windiest holes. - I will admit, there was some luck involved with this. Anytime Metal fails to Eagle a Par 5, the 3rd or 10th holes, or fails to Birdie a Par 3, I have a chance of not losing. Getting the 3rd hole Eagle sparked the whole thing off.
