After setting up the game and changing the difficulty level to two steps above emperor our hero Jeff Davis sets out to win sovereignty for his version of America. Jeff Davis used to be called Jefferson Davis, but one day while playing scrabble he ran out of letter and had to start calling himself Jeff Davis. I choose to play on emperor+2 because the game crashes a lot on emperor+3. The main challenge is unhappiness, but this problem somehow affects the AI too, however that won't stop the AI from building a lot and researching a lot. Also barbarians get an attack bonus depending on difficulty level: Chieftain: -75% attack, rounded down as always, this means the attach power of barbarians is significantly lower on Chieftain Warlord: -50% attack Prince: -25% King: no modifier Emperor: +25% bonus to barbarian attack Emperor+2: +75% barbarian attack bonus However the rate at which barbarians show up doesn't change.
