Before they can enter Abazigal's Lair, the party has to defeat the guardian at the entrance - Abazigal's son Draconis. His name should tell you what awaits you, in case the area layout doesn't remind you of other dragon lairs you've been to. The fight with Draconis is every bit as troublesome as I remember it. He starts out as a high-level mage who is annoying enough but once you defeat him, he changes into his other form - a Brown Dragon! In his dragon form, he makes very liberal use of his wing buffet, besides repeatedly going invisible and trying to heal himself or punching on an unsuspecting party member. It doesn't exactly help that Minsc and Sarevok are both stunned... I manage to prevail in the end, but not before losing both Anomen and Jaheira, plus I run out of my supply of summoned Planetars. In the end Charnamella nails him with Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting. To top it off, Sarevok then gets killed by an Invisible Stalker before I can kill that. I am REALLY rusty!
