Tarjan's End Sir Robin's Tune to run away from random encounters until reaching the inner sanctum, Sanctuary Score before engaging in miniboss/boss battles, and Kiel's Overture in combat for a massive AC boost. Instead of collecting more Crystal Gems, I decided to attempt to slay Tarjan with what I had. Sir Robin's Tune enabled me to easily get to Tarjan's inner circle, but would I be able to defeat them? Yes, by the narrowest of margins at points (24:40). Since Black Slayers could Night Lance, I thought for sure that I would have a great deal of trouble with the last fights. Fortunately, they seemed more interested in advancing from 20' to melee range, giving the round needed to wipe out the enemy group with two Gotterdamurungs and one Divine Intervention.
